Hands-on Learning with Habitat

Freezing temps this January don’t stop our tiny house endeavors!  Today I volunteered with our local Habitat for Humanity.  I recommend that anyone get involved with this great organization to meet cool people and learn construction knowledge.

We had no heaters at the build site despite temperatures in the teens!  Fortunately, the finished house will be well-equipped for our cold climate.  It is designed with large south facing windows to capitalize on passive solar heating as well as solar panels for electricity.  It’s fun to learn about “green” building techniques to see how we might incorporate them into our tiny house.
